final fantasy xiv dreams of ice
Dreams of ice are the official name for the FF XIV v2.4 patch.

Even though i´m not a big Mmorpg player (and i´m not a huge fan of the genre for that matter either). I still have to admit that Square Enix has done a pretty darn good job with Final Fantasy XIV (which has 2.5 million players). I actually tried the game for the very first time last night (after my Shadowrun: Dragonfall Director´s Cut section).

And i found it to be quite entertaining. And speaking of which, the forth FF XIV patch v2.4 ("Dreams of ice), are in the making. And it will be available for PC, PS3 and PS4 in the near future. For more information, please check out the press release down below.

Unity Developer Profile - PressPlay

PressPlay are dead serious about making awesome (and creative) games.

Due the fact that Unitys video series "Unity Developer Profile" has been such a huge success. There will be more videos in the near future. And in the lates video we get to know the Danish studio "PressPlay" (the makers of Max: The Curse of Brotherhood) a little bit better.

Me, i watched the video this morning. And i can tell you this much. There´s a lot of talented and creative folks at PressPlay. Anhow, please enjoy the video =)

Press release:
Unity technologies today released a new Unity Developer Profiles, that highlight the development stories behind amazing interactive entertainment experiences that are created through the powerful Unity games development platform.

The new Unity Developer Profile features Press Play. The Copenhagen based Microsoft Studios developer created Xbox One launch title Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and is currently working on Project Totem. Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is available now on the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

It was the first game to be available on the Games With Gold service. Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is a beautiful adventure that tasks the player with guiding Max and the powers of his magic marker through an incredible world to save his little brother, Felix. Players can use the marker to manipulate the environment to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles.

This Unity Developer Profile covers the history of the studio, including its close ties with Unity from its inception. It also shows how the ease of prototyping with Unity is so beneficial to Press Play's design process; which focuses on gameplay mechanics first.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain - 20min TGS 2014 demo

The death from about (litterly). In the shape of "Quiet".

Honestly, i think this years TGS has been one of the most interesting TGS events in years. But then again, i´m also a huge Metal Gear Solid fan. And Hideo Kojima sure didn´t let me down with the 20 minute long gameplay demo for MGS 5: The Phantom Pain (which will be released to PS3, PS4, 360 and Xbox One).

And i think it´s actually the very first video that we get to see both Snake and Quite working together as a team. That was a pretty neat experience, no doubt about that. But i still don´t understand why Quite has to dress up as a prostitute?

So unless Kojima has a really good plot going down for Quite. Then it´s just plain stupid imo. But other than that, i´m quite excited about MGS5: Phantom Pain. But what about you folks? Are you excited over the TGS Phantom demo?

About Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain:
Development powerhouse, Kojima Productions, continues forth the 'METAL GEAR SOLID V Experience' with the latest chapter, METAL GEAR SOLID V: The Phantom Pain. Ushering in a new era for the franchise with cutting-edge technology powered by the Fox Engine, MGSV: The Phantom Pain, will provide players a first-rate gaming experience as they are offered tactical freedom to carry out open-world missions.

Taking place nine years after the events of MGSV: Ground Zeroes and the fall of Mother Base, Snake a.k.a. Big Boss, awakes from a near decade-long coma. The game resumes the story in 1984, with the Cold War still as the backdrop, which continues to shape a global crisis.

Snake's journey takes him into a world where he is driven by a need for revenge and the pursuit of a shadow group, XOF. Hideo Kojima, head of Kojima Productions, continues to ambitiously explore mature themes such as the psychology of warfare and the atrocities that result from those that engage in its vicious cycle.

One of the most anticipated games of the year with its open-world design, photorealistic visual fidelity and feature-rich game design, MGSV: The Phantom Pain will leave its mark as one of the hallmarks in the gaming industry for its cinematic storytelling, heavy themes, and immersive tactical gameplay.

Final Fantasy XV - The rebirth of Final Fantasy?

Final Fantasy XV seems to be a very "different" Final Fantasy game.

Even though we are not the best of friends with Square Enix (after our little Youtube copyright fight back in October last year). I´m still going to give them a thumbs up for Final Fantasy XV (which they showed at TGS today).

Why? Because the Final Fantasy series has been screaming for a total makeover for years now. Because, let´s be honest. Most of the new FF titles has been rather mediocre (Final Fantasy XIV Online are not one of those titles though).

And for a while it seemed like Square Enix was stuck in some kind of time hole.Because they kept on repeating the same old thing over and over again (but with a different title name and number). But Final Fantasy XV seems to be different though.

In fact, the only thing that i don´t like about the TGS trailer, are the haircuts. And i´m not the only one. I mean, the haircuts look very unreal. Like, shiny wigs or something like that. Oh well.Ii can accept that IF Final Fantasy XV turns out to be a epic game.

And to all the fanboys out there (in each camp). I´m sorry to disappoint you, but Final Fantasy XV will be released to both PS4 and the Xbox One. There will even be a PC-version later on as well.

And oh! If you pre-order Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (PS4 and Xbox One, priced at 69,99 Euro), then you will get a playable demo of Final Fantasy XV as a pre-order bonus. So theoretically, that means that you could get your chance to play Final Fantasy XV on the release day of FF Type-0 HD. Which would be on the 20th of March next year.

So, are you guys excited about Final Fantasy XV? And will you pre-order Final Fantasy Type-0 HD? Let us know in the comments below!

Quake Live are now live on Steam!

12 Game modes, 100 arenas, epic FPS action. All F2P, how can you say no to that?

What a nice coincidence. Because i started to play Quake Remake the other day. And today i found out that ID Software will release Quake Live on Steam tonight. And it´s all true, because it´s live on Steam as we speak. For me it means a lot of nostalgia.

Mainly because i played Quake III Arena (which was the original name of the game when it was released back in 1999) quite a lot back in the days. But there´s a huge difference between Quake Live and Q3 Arena. There´s like tons of improvements and new features in Quake Live for example.

But Quake Live are just as fast paced and adrelin pumping as Q3 Arena. And that´s the way it should be. And due the fact that Quake Live are all free-to-play. You might wanna give it a go ;)

"Welcome to Quake Live. From the legendary series that founded the online shooter genre comes the most exciting, energetic, and fast-paced free-to-play shooter on the Internet. Play against players around the world in over 100 arenas, and a dozen game modes, in one of the most competitive shooters online today. Coming to Steam on September 17, 2014."
